Frequently Asked Questions
From emergency plumbing and heating services in London and surrounding areas to first and second fixes we’ve put together
a comprehensive run down of questions we hear most often.
What do you charge for services?
No call out fees for emergencies and certainly no fees for quoting projects. Our engineers will come out and quote each job in writing before the work begins. All of our work is backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee, certification and insurance.
Are your prices different after normal hours?
No price changes for plumbing or heating emergencies between 7am to 10pm, we do expect the first hour to be paid in problem solving and a reduced rate for every hour thereafter. For planned works there are no variations.
How long will a water heater last?
Depending on your system setup bust most boilers last 10-15 years with good servicing. Air source heat pumps are to last longer than this but the technology is still new.
How hot should my home’s water be?
In the UK, stored hot water in a cylinder should be set to at least 60 °C, while hot water at taps is typically around 50 °C (with bath taps limited to 48 °C in new homes).
If i call in for service on saturday will it cost me more?
Our prices do not change through the week, we maintain high standards and transparency in pricing all times.
Are all new toilets water saving toilet suites?
Majority of new systems are efficient and having a new system works better, whilst this is the case it can vary based on the model you have.
What do you do when servicing a tap?
Turn off the water supply, dismantle and clean/replace the internal parts (washer/cartridge/aerator), then reassemble and test carefully for leaks.
How Do I Unclog My Main Sewer Line?
Pop the cleanout, run a proper cable (or jet it) to break through the blockage and flush it clean, and if it won’t clear or it keeps coming back I’d CCTV it to find the root cause.
